BCLK Skylake non-k OC on unlisted Asus motherboard

Heyho

Basically I'm getting a Asus Z170-S TUF Motherboard soon and pairing it with an i5 6400 that my friend sold to me for a good bargain.

Problem is, on the OC guide in http://overclocking.guide/asus-z170-non-k-overclocking-guide/, there was not a bios for the Z170-S.

So I went over to the official Asus site, and checked that there was a bios (the first release bios) that was released before the bios that stated "microcode update" which I can safely assume is the removal of BCLK OCing on non-k processors.

Would it be a safe bet to flash with that very first bios, hoping to gain BCLK OCing features?

Thanks!

Solution
it would be safe to flash the first BIOS, just remember that BCLK affects almost everything in your system including PCIe and RAM.
It is known for making systems unstable. So don't be surprised with crashes/issues later.

Okay thanks! Just to add on, will an old bios generally have any significant instability on a motherboard?

Another microcode update, and support more PCIe-1394 devices.

The skylake was the first cpu which has separate bclk for cpu, no it does not affect any other device like ram and pcie, in other words you can overclock on non-k cpu without any hasssle, thats why intel forced motherboards partners to remove this feature.
