Will all my PC components work together?

Hello.

I am planning on building my first gaming PC. This is my first time building a PC and I am hoping to build a PC that will excel in gaming, having great resolutions and frame rates. I want this PC to last as long as possible without having to upgrade components for at least a few years if possible.

As this is my first time building a PC I have spent countless hours trying to find components that will work together and fit my needs. I have mostly been using http://pcpartpicker.com/ to find components that will work together, but I still don't completely trust it, as I don't want to spend upwards of a thousand dollars just for the PC to not work.

I don't care how long it takes to save up the money for this PC. I will be buying every component individually, and not start building the PC until I have every part. All parts will be kept in packaging until every part is collected and building process has begun.

This is my PC build:

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair H115i Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI Z170A PC MATE ATX Motherboard
Memory: Kingston FURY 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Storage: Samsung 250GB SSD and Western Digital Red Pro 3TB Internal Hard Drive
Graphics Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX980 4GB XTREME GAMING Graphics Card
Power Supply: Corsair RMx 850W Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro M ATX Mid Tower Case
Peripherals: Corsair K65 RGB Rapidfire Wired Keyboard and Razer Death Adder Chroma Wired Optical Mouse

Also included in my build is the NZXT Hue+ and 3 NZXT Aer RGB 120MM Fans.

Please also feel free to give me tips on how to improve my build, and help me any spot errors and resolve them, everything helps.

Thanks:)

why would you water cool a 65W CPU like the i5-6500? that's burning money in my opinion.
also why get a Z170 board with a locked CPU?
why go for a 850W PSU with a single GPU?
Why go for a 980GTX? It's most likely way more expensive than a 1060GTX while not offering more performance

I suggest upping the CPU to an i5-6600k and go with a Cryorig H7 or H5 universal as CPU cooler. this will cost the same or less while offering better performance.

furthermore depending on the price swap the 980 for a 1070 or a 1060

and downgrade the PSU. an i5+1070 runs easily on 550W even when overclocked.

also as for saving up, it's smarter to save up all the money and then buy all parts at once, as far as Mainboard/CPU/GPU/RAM/Storage go (PSUs, fans...

also as for saving up, it's smarter to save up all the money and then buy all parts at once, as far as Mainboard/CPU/GPU/RAM/Storage go (PSUs, fans, coolers aren't that critical) as for example: you buy the i5-6500 now, but finish the build in April. in April you'd get an i5-7600k for the same price that could be around 15% faster .
Or you buy a GTX980 now, but let's say in March AMD releases their new Volta series which could offer twice the performance of the 980 for the same price tag.
so it's better for those components that really matter in terms of performance to buy as late as possible

Okay, sounds like a better option. Looking through 1070's and have come across 2 good options; the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition and the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Xtreme Gaming. Any of those 2 sound good? Which one should I go with if I were to choose one of them?

And what would be a good aircooler instead that would work with my build? A black aircooler would be nice if possible.

Thanks.

neither.
stay clear of founders editions, as they are a bit weak and perfekt for ITX cases, but not for ATX builds
the Xtreme Gaming on the other hand is overpriced, overengineered crap. it usually costs 100$ more than other models without offering any real benefit.

with the 1070 you can get a relatively cheap card without any problems

usually cheap models are Palit Gamerock / Gainward Phoenix (arguably the best cooled 1070s), Inno3d'c iChill x4 (kind of an insider tip) or the usual suspects: Asus Strix, Gigabyte G1, EVGA FTW
paying more for a card with higher factory oc doesn't return performance as with boost 3.0 they all clock the same, no matter if they're OC or not (my Gainward Phoenix boosts to ~1980 even when playing BF1 for a few hours, just the same as the ASUS ROG Strix which was 120$ more when I bought the card, so going for factory OC is just wasting money with the 1070)

Sorry Isokolon, I have little knowledge on this topic, but I will definitely take everything into account.

Thank you for your help, will definitely be changing my build.:)

Does the EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW Gaming GPU sound good?

it always depends on the pricing.
sometimes the FTW is 30 bucks within the cheapest 1070
sometimes it's one of the priciest cards out there compared to other 1070s
generally it's a nice card. but it depends on which cards are available cheaper.

anyway, since you don't have the money right now, I suggest holding off until you got your budget saved up and then ask again, as you'll be getting more for your money's worth

I live in China and usually customer support for any brand always sucks because there are very few laws that protect the end user. Both Dell and Gigabyte have been very helpful in the past, but I can't be sure in other countries. But i usually purchase dell parts from Parts-dell.cc,it helps me more.
