Hi I have just got some spare system components from a friend which has been used for around 1.5 years. I bought some components to connect the dots but a little confused regarding the PSU requirement. Its not going to be a 24/7 setup but would do some gaming (ex. BF, Crysis), video editing, encoding etc.

I am confined within some specific brands (Corsair, Coolermaster and Thermaltake). I have found a Seasonic 760w Gold certified and the reviews are pretty good on the web. Experienced suggestion would be nice and helpful :)

CPU: AMD FX 8350
CPU Cooler: Hyper 212x
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-990FX Gaming (Bought yesterday)
Graphics card: 980GTX / R9 290 / 390 (I will buy soon, havent decided yet)
RAM: 8GB (4X2) DDR3 2400 Team Vulcan
Sound: X-Fi Titanium
HDD: 2 WD drives (1TB X 2)
Case Fans: 4-5
Power supply: ??

I'd recommend getting a GTX 1060 instead of any of the listed above.
It's around the same price and it's better/newer than all of them.

If you can, i'd recommend getting 16GB of RAM, just 8GB nowadays is a bit too little.

SeaSonic make great PSU undoubtedly you can rest easy with that one, but 760w is a little too much for your system IMO, but if maybe you wanna overclock in the future, it's always good to have some extra power.
If you're looking for Corsair PSU get yourself a CX550M, it's a nice one too!

Thank you guys...such quick responses !

At the moment I cant upgrade the RAM to 16 or buy a GTX 1060. Dont have the money to be honest. People are selling these DDR3's and 960, 980, R290, 380, 390's in very cheap prices to upgrade their systems. And, I would try to overclock and see how my chip fares but the heat to me is a big concern. I'll probably need to do an active cooling in the vrm. I have a Thermaltake Spedo casing which has a lot of space and great air flowing. Maybe I'll get Corsair water-cooling and see how it goes. But if I'm unable to run it 24/7 o'clocked thats OK. I would run it as stock and wait for the new things to come up in the market.

I was planning to build a ZEN AM4 and then throw in a 1080 plus 16/32 gig RAM when Zen starts hitting the shelf. In the meantime, its a great opportunity to get my hands on AMD again before moving to Zen which I think is going to be a lot competitive than what AMD cpu's are these days. I miss AMD to be honest. My last AMD rig was the Athlon FX when they used to beat Intel in almost everything.
