Here's my current build:

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/CM2m3F

I'm trying to find a way to potentially downsize my build or minimize the cost without drastically affecting performance. Is there anything I should change to accomplish this? Any other comments would be appreciated.

I currently have the RX 480 in my build but I may switch to a GTX 1060. Feel free to comment on that also.

Note* The list is in CAD not USD, and includes all components including software and accessories.

Some suggestions:
1. Use a cheaper I3-6100. It is an excellent mid range gamer.
This review shows it compares favorably to even a I5-6600:

2. If you use a discrete graphics card, fast ram is not helpful.
I like the lpx ram, but a 2 x 4gb lit of 2133 will work equally well.
Here is a report on ram speed scaling for skylake:

3. Love 500gb for a windows SSD. If you need more than 500gb, then consider a hard drive for bulk storage that you can add later.
I would not buy any ssd other than Samsung or Intel. If you really need more than 500gb, buy a single 1tb ssd. Performance and endurance would be better.

4. 500w is appropriate for a RX480, or even a GTX1060 or GTX1070.
But, the one you picked is a tier 4 unit on this list:

Look for a tier 1 or 2 unit.
Seasonic is always good, and they usually have promotions around this time of year.

You can pick up a Windows 10 online from Kinguin for much cheaper. This is a much better power supply, and the Monitor is a FreeSync, which is very nice for gaming.
