Performance increase with PowerColor PCS+ Radeon R9 380 over the R7 250X?

So, I'm looking to upgrade from an R7 250X to this card, and I'm wondering on how much of an increase I'm going to get with the R9 380. I upgrade 1 part at a time when my games desperately need it, and it's apparently time to move on from the 250X. My CPU's an Athlon X4 860K, so it's simply a one-component upgrade. In the games I'm trying to play, my GPU's got 99% usage while my CPU's very rarely hitting 15% on medium settings. It peaks at 15% for 10 seconds(system monitor from AMD, recorded the monitoring and that's what the spread sheet's showing) so I'm not worried about my CPU keeping up at all :pt1cable:

So, what am I looking at here?
What kind of gains am I going to/possibly get with an upgrade from my current GPU to the new one?

Yes, it does look like a graphics card upgrade would be appropriate.
What kinds of games do you play?
Fast action games are the type that will respond best to a graphics upgrade.

Do you have the requisite 550w psu for a R9-380?

Your cpu is not very strong by today's standards and a significant upgrade is going to need a motherboard change .
Just to test your cpu,
Limit your cpu, either by reducing the OC, or, in windows power management, limit the maximum cpu% to something like 70%.
Go to control panel/power options/change plan settings/change advanced power settings/processor power management/maximum processor state/
This will simulate what a lack of cpu power will do.
Conversely what a 30% improvement in core speed might do.
If you see a big reduction in performance, your cpu might be more limiting than you think.

ARK: Survival Evolved, F.E.A.R., Anno 2070, Company of Heroes; Things like that. Anno and CoH are CPU heavy, but FEAR and ARK are both GPU heavy.

I'm already planning to replace the CPU when Zen releases and goes on sale, I've already ran benchmarking software on my PC with 3D Mark, lol. It(the CPU) does extremely well, but I know eventually it's going to have to be upgraded... But, you know. One piece at a time. The system runs, so no need to do a complete overhaul when it's unnecessary :p

However, speaking about the PSU---No. I have a 500W. I can probably undercut the recommended wattage because according to partpicker, the system's going to draw around or a little over 400W and worry about the PSU at a later date. I just replaced it about 6 months ago after my state(I'm in the US) was hit with a huge storm and a surge fried my old one.
