Hey guys :)
I got my PC a few months ago and love it. I have an i5 6600k and Asus Strix 1060. I bought the Corsair Carbide Series 200r Windowed Compact ATX case and love it, but the default case fans are quite noisy, and im looking to upgrade. Right now, I am working on making a white and black setup. I would prefer to get white fans, but if there are none available, then I can work with black. What fans do you recommend getting and how many? Also, I dont know much about case fans, but I do know that you can have them intake or push out air I believe? Which way should I have them going? thanks! :p

Your case comes with two front 120mm intake fans.
That is the setup you want.
That way, all intake air is filtered keeping your case cleaner.

Fan noise comes from running at high rpm.
You can reduce the fan speed, but at the expense of airflow.
Likely, your parts are sufficiently cool so that is an option.
There are various ways to reduce fan speed.
You could use a fan controller, possibly motherboard fan control, or even low voltage fan wires.
A good reference to quiet fans is www.silentpcreview.com.
They will have reviews of various fans.
Here is a link.; you need to check out the color.

And... are you certain that the noise is not coming from the cpu cooler?
Use a rolled up paper tube at your ear to identify a noise source

Thanks for the reply, and I will check out the website! I have a 212 evo, and that part of it is quite noisy without me even overclocking the CPU. I'll take a look at which part is making the most noise. I'm pretty sure most is coming from the 212. Do you think it would be more benifical to upgrade the cooler instead of the fans? Because right now, my temps are pretty good. I could do both, but start off with the cooler and if that doesn't work, add better/ more fans :)

Hey, thanks for the reply
Do you recommend a certain fan for me? Also, thanks for letting me know exactly what I need :)

Most of the time, reducing the speed of the cpu cooler fan will still result in sufficient cooling.
Look in your motherboard bios for fan profiles ; set so you only spin the fan up to full speed when the cpu is heavily loaded.

The rpm of the fan is the first order determinant of noise.

I don't mind buying new fans at all, and I want to anyway so I'm planning on installing new ones. Is the post by John TJ good? Will that fan setup work?
