Hi, I'm trying to create a wired network on my Huawei P8 phone using a RJ45 cable from my router. I saw several guides and videos that explain that this is possible by buying a lan adapter and plugging in the phone, but it doesnt connect to the internet.
I bought this adapter: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141907890299

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? The light on the adapter comes on to say it is working, but the phones isn't connecting
Thanks

"System support: Windows 98SE/ME/ 2000/XP/Vista/Linux/Win7/Win8/Win10"
Hmm... I don't see Android in that list of supported operating systems, my guess would be Android lacks the software required to support the device.

Ah...now I feel stupid. Tutorials I saw all used a lan to usb adapter with an otg cable. I tried to save money and take a shortcut by buying an adapter that was lan to micro usb so I could skip the otg cable. Seems the otg cable is what is needed to make it compatible for android. Thanks mate

Before you spend more money - find out which LAN adapters your Huawey supports. The drivers for that adapter should be already baked into the phone, there is no (easy) way to add them. And you will really need OTG cable - plug an USB disk there, you should see it in your phone as a storage.
