Hello Guys! Right now I'm in college and I'm gonna need a better PC, the problem is I want this PC to last longer than the actual one.

My Specs are:
FX 6300 (4.1 GHZ with Turbo Clock)
Heatsink Thermaltake NiC L31
ASUS M5A78LMX-PLUS
8 GB DDR3 1600 MHZ
Corsair CX 600 PSU
500 GB Samsung 750 SSD
Corsair Carbide Spec-02
AND GTX 760

I wanted to get the GTX 1060 at first but then realized I will have some extra money to spend and get the GTX 1070. The current games I play are Rainbow Six Siege, Battlefield 4,The Division and Watch Dogs 2.

What do you recommend me GTX 1060 or GTX 1070 (both ASUS strix)?

Either way I plan to upgrade the CPU for an i5 in aprox. 6 months and I play each weekend (cause of HW :/ ) but always want the best experience.

Solution
If you intend to gor for an i5 in teh near future, by all means, get the 1070. It will be severly limited by your current CPU, but, once you sort the platform out aswell, it should last you easily throughout school.
It depends on your monitor. If you are on a 1080p/60 hz monitor, there is no difference between a gtx 1060 and a gtx 1070, since the monitor cannot display higher than 60 hz. A single gtx 1060 6gb will be able to max out the settings of any game (with a decent CPU).

Only consider the gtx 1070 if you have a 1440p or higher resolution, or have a high refresh rate (120 or 144hz) monitor at 1080p.

I have a 1080p monitor, but I'm afraid the GTX 1060 won't age properly, at least not as the GTX 1070, I'm looking for something that can last longer at gaming, I will get the Asus Strix (either 1060 or 1070 ) 'cause It has 3 year warranty.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from f_osva : "FX 6300 & GTX 1070 or GTX 1060"

For 2-3 years the gtx 1060 will do fine on 1080p. On a given resolution the graphic power needed doesn't change much over time, only when upgrading to a higher resolution or other platform. Since directx 12 is still about 2-3 years from becoming mainstream a gtx 1060 will last you at least those 2-3 years on 1080p.

Definitly I guess 1070 will be better for the long term plus 3 year warranty by Asus will make it even greater, thanks for the advice!

You're welcome!

A gtx 1070 on 1080p is totally overkill for it, a complete waste of money. In 2 years a 1060 will still perform very well on 1080p. Also there would be no difference in running either from a FX CPU, since it is not a very powerful CPU. FX with gtx 1060 is a good match, but again with a gtx 1070 is a waste of money.

Thx for the advice! Anyways I will be upgrading my CPU very soon, I'm only waiting for Kaby lake or Zen, My very first plan was upgrading CPU but then I read a new gen in CPU is coming, I prefer spending some extra bucks now, also I'm from Mexico and pricing here ages beautifully, pretty sure I could even sell the 1070 next year at the same price I got it

I just got the GTX 1070 STRIX and yeah it's running great in most games, Watch Dogs 2 isn't that great 'cause it requires a good CPU, but overall the performance is solid and good, also is way cooler, temps never go above 60°C thx guys!
