Hey guys,

I have the problem that my pc is getting a little bit slow. Specially when I cut videos in premiere I have huge lagg and sometimes it even crashes. Now I wonder if I should upgrade my current set up or buy a new one.

CPU i7 3770 - 3.4 Ghz Quad
16 gb DDR 3 Ram
AMD Radeon HD 6670 1gb Ram

Can you help me?

Greetings
Jacob

Solution
Your CPU does not need an upgrade so i would look into reinstalling windows if its lagging and a new GPU if you play video games.
If it was running better before and has steadily become slower that's an indication the HDD needs a little careful cleaning out and optimising. If you're unsure as to how to do this, drop us a line, we'll be happy to help.

Alternatively, you could drop a SATA type SSD into the existing system and do a fresh install of Windows onto it, then format the existing HDD to clear it out, giving you a totally clean setup with the SSD used for Windows and a few select apps and the HDD as bulk storage.
Obviously, you'll need to back up any important files before formatting the HDD and it is essential to format both the SSD and HDD under the same system, if your motherboard supports it use the AHCI option for preference as this helps with SSD performance.
If you live in the USA, expect to pay well under $100 for a 256GB 2.5" drive.

I alrdy have a ssd build in. Do you think a new GPU like a gtx 1060 would help? Or myb a gtx 1070

Well it feels like the pc get a little slower but also the stuff I'm cutting is getting higher resolution and more cameras at the same time.

Thank's so far alrdy!
