Will lan work automatically after installing OS?

After i install the os an a newly assembled pc, and connect the ethernet cable for internet, will i get internet connection immediately after plugging it or do i need drivers for the lan first before it activates? and if yes, where can i get the drivers for this, is it included in the os installer or in the motherboard driver installer cd?

your motherboard should havecome with a CD with programs and drivers. if you cannot find it then go to your motherboard manufacturers website and download the drivers for your model

Windows 10 is my proposed os, does it have a driver for the lan? what included cd do you mean, is it the motherboard's cd and also is it the website of my os or of my motherboard?

ok thanks, I hope they make it a standard to all motherboard manufacturers to inlclude all drivers for the lan.
