Can i get 8gb ddr3 and keep my core 2 duo 2,4 ghz, on my new motherboard ?

i found out that i have 2gb ram ddr2 and i thought that they are ddr3 xD
i searched some thrustfully online shops that i bought things from, and i found this motherboard at 50$ that i belive is good for my needs to be satisfied: Gigabyte GA-H81M-S2V, H81, socket 1150, 2xDDR3, 2xSATA3, mATX
It is possible to get an i5 with 4 cores on this one ?

I see the i5 here but idk really if can it be 4 cores xD

Oh, and my old motherboard and these 2 gb ram ddr2 will be placed on my old pc that i bought 10 years ago and i will get it a gt210 gddr3 sometime later xD...for trips or holydays at folks xD
And on my current pc, this motherboard that i want to buy, a piece of 8gb ddr3 1600 mhz, nvidia gt 730 gddr5 64 bits, a second hdd of 1 terrabite.
