Hi all,

I had installed in my pc two of WD Black 2tb sata3 7200rpm ( https://www.pccomponentes.com/wd-black-2tb-sata3-7200rpm) but I had to go to a data recovery service, and they recommended buy other as they could give failures due to stress during the data recovery process.

Anyone know if it's true or exaggerated a bit?
If I had to buy two, I would buy them or would you recommend another of equal or higher quality or better price?

Thanks.

PS: I use them as secondary disks to install some programs, games and temporary Photoshop, Premier ... in addition to data etc.

Hey there, @Melkoroth!

Regardless of your hard drive's brand or specifications, you should always make sure you backup your data to multiple locations. Of course, it always a great idea to have an off-site backup of your files, so even if you put another internal drive and make a copy of your current WD Black 2 TB, your data would still be in jeopardy if you don't have an external storage location with a copy of the files. The more copies you have of it in different storage drives, the safer you will feel about the integrity of the data.

The WD Black desktop HDDs come with a 5-year limited warranty which should definitely give you some peace of mind as well. However, backups are essential regardless of the storage device.

Hope this...
