My PSU is dying, and my brother gave me a hand me down OCZ 700w Mod X Stream Pro power supply. But it does not have the right connectors for my 6 pin Sapphire R9 270. Since the PSU is modular, I can just by an adapter cable; but the question is what ports do I use on it? It has four 6-pin black ports and two red 8-pin ports.

Does it matter which port I use? Should I get a 6-pin to 6-pin cable, or an 8-pin to 6-pin cable to plug into my 6-pin video card?

??? The 6+2 pin connectors and headers are universal. They have to work... If you have them. The Startech above is simply an extension to connect the same type connector to the same type header.

None of the cables it came with are compatible with my 6-pin R9 270

Why wouldn't something like this work? Isn't supporting various cables the whole point of modular power supplies?

Looks like they have a custom cabling option.
