I just recently built my computer from scratch. I have:
• Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Motherboard
• i7 6700k
• Corsair H100i V2 Liquid Cooler
• MSI GeForce GTX980 Gaming 4G
• EVGA SuperNOVA 850W Gold PSU
• Corsair Vengeance LPX (2 x 8GB) 2666MHz Black
I am already desperate. I have been messing around with the BIOS setup of this build since I got it all together and i'm still getting BSOD like no other. In the beginning, I thought it was the RAM that was throwing off my system in a BSOD loop. I was getting "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR" for the most part and sometimes a "CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT". I've read a lot of threads, articles, supports, etc. about the two errors and it's pretty much about the overclock settings. Now, I tried loading the default settings on my BIOS and i'm still getting some random BSOD with the WHEA error. At this point, I just don't know what to do. I don't know anyone where I can bring my computer in to get looked at and i'm already frustrated about the BSODs i've been getting for two weeks now
I tried manually putting the CPU voltage to 1.200 and my clockspeed at 4000MHz (which is supposedly the stock speed) and i'm still getting some random restarts and BSODs. My RAM is at stock settings (2133MHz @ 1.200v) and still the same. I would appreciate any help at this point.
