Those beeps is an error code. If you have an Award BIOS...

1 short - System boot successfull
2 short - CMOS setting error
1 long 1 short - DRAM or M/B error
1 long 2 short - Monitor or display card error
1 long 3 short - Keyboard error
1 long 9 short - BIOS ROM error
*repeated beeps - DRAM error
*repeated short beeps - Power error
*Repeated high & low beeps - Processor is damaged/Overheated

A couple possibilities...
1) the PSU is too weak or too cheap for the 8800 GTX. What is the model you have?
2) you forgot to move the monitor's cable from the integrated video port to the graphics card's port.

You really need more RAM than 1GB, so hopefully that isn't the problem. Try the computer again with just the original RAM.
