I'm currently in the process of building the ultimate Windows 98 gaming rig. I'm doing this because I have a handful of retro PC games that won't run on modern operating systems. I could just use emulation but I find it more enjoyable building a system. The PC I will be using is an old Dell Dimension L800CX with a Intel Celeron. The OS of choice is Windows 98SE. I will describe the parts below.
PARTS:
PC - Dell Dimension L800CX
PROCESSOR - Intel Celeron clocked at 800 MHz
RAM - 256 MBs
VIDEO CARD - Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 128 MBs
SOUND CARD - Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
HARD DRIVE - 120 GBs HDD
That's it. I plan on using this PC to play games from 1995 to 2001 with good settings, resolution, and framrates. Let me know what you guy think of my build.
