Hey guys,
I was curious to gauge opinion on the matter. Firstly to understand my query I think that it is paramount you understand the situation I am currently in. I currently have a core i5 4690k and an MSI GTX 970. I run my games on a 60Hz monitor at 1080p. I am looking to upgrade my GPU to a 10th generation card (ik it is a tad overkill for 1080p) and a friend of mine said I might need to take the 4690k into consideration as many games such as BF1 now ask for a 6600k as the default requirement for the CPU and the recommended requirement being an i7. I have had a good read up and I understand the concept of hyper threading and how many games are now taking use of the 8 threads the i7 lineup has to offer. So my question is fairly simple. Will the i7 CPUs provide a significant change in performance from the 4690k. Enough of an impact that future games will be bottlenecked by the CPU?
I was wondering if the answer is yes, and the shift is in motion that the i7 is becoming the gaming "norm" what would my best plan of attack be?
should I look to upgrading the 4690k to avoid any future issues in CPU demanding titles?
