Please help me pick between these 2 specific cards at these prices:

MSI GTX 1060 3GB OCV1
https://us.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1060-3G-OCV1.html
$158.89

MSI RX 480 4GB GAMING X
https://us.msi.com/Graphics-card/Radeon-RX-480-GAMING-X-4G.html
$179.99

I like the lower power usage and price of the 1060. But the 480 has a better cooler and more ram. The 480 looks like better materials quality but I can't tell if it is just cosmetic. I will use this for 1080p 60hz gaming for new release games. I hope to get at least 3 years out of it. If you know of any other options for a similarly good deal please post.

I generally prefer nvidia but the smaller size and lesser cooler of the 1060 concerns me. Please address this specifically.

Rest of my build:
cpu: intel i5 6600(non-k)
mobo: asus b150 pro gaming/aura lga 1151

psu: seasonic g series ssr 550rm 550w 80 plus gold

the 480 is the better buy

the 3gb 1060 not only has less vram but is also internally neutered

I saw a lot of benchmark graphs and youtube videos showing the 1060 3gb as higher fps than the 480 4gb in a lot of games. Is this correct or could these benchmarks be false? From my reading it says the 1060 3gb is more "optimized" and "efficient". They generally say the 480 is more futureproof because of the extra 1gb ram but will I notice it at 1080p 60hz?

Between these 2 does the larger size and fancier 2 fan cooler of the 480 matter much vs the mini size and single fan on the 1060?

Also am I correct that the rx 480 4gb has more raw power from higher spec hardware, while the gtx 1060 3gb's better performance is based on better software/driver performance?
