I just got a RX480 and the graphic card does work, the problem is it does not give any signal through DVI after windows boots up and it starts using the AMD driver. Before that it does display the UEFI BIOS and the splash screen perfectly fine, and so does if I load windows in safemode.

I'm currently using HDMI which is working fine, though I need the DVI to get value out of my 144hz monitor.

I'm using win7 64 bit, and I've tried the both the latest AMD crimson drivers: 16.11.2 and 16.9. I've also tried switching the PCIe port, and reseting and upgrading the BIOS with no success.

Also, the cable is working and so is the monitor, everything was working accordingly with my previous GPU.

Any ideas?

edit: I've also noticed that sometimes when I ask the monitor to use DVI at the start or when it's the only cable connected the fans spin at 100% for a few seconds, although there's still no signal.

Solution

Could be if there are some issues with the silicon. Failing video cards often run fine on the basic VGA drivers.

Thanks.
'll check warranty for a replacement or fix and report the results.

Edit: the bloody thing just fixed itself somehow, I can't really explain it but today it just works.
