I never heard of motherboard bottlenecking anything, but I might be wrong.
If you will get bottlenecked it's either your CPU or your RAM most of the time, and there is no set rules on what bottlenecks what it depends on the game you are playing for example you won't get away with buying a 60$ CPU and a Gtx Titan that is not going to play games at the fullest potential of your GPU.
