Hello! I am unable to format my HDD because it "contains the version of windows you are currently using". I have tried everything and nothing has worked for me. Any response is appreciated! im on Windows 10

You are probably trying to format the HDD while both it and the SSD are in the computer... Right or Wrong? If I'm right do as follows: If I'm wrong explain exactly how you have tried to format it.

To Format the HDD (only if the SSD boots)

1. remove the HDD and see if the SSD boots

2. If the SSD boots, remove the HDD and a) connect it via USB and format it... or b) remove or disconnect the SSD and with a Windows installer begin a Windows installation, format the HDD and stop there... Next connect the SSD and you'll have the HDD for storage. You can download the Windows ISO any version from a Microsoft download page and burn it to DVD or make a Windows USB installer. Or instead of using a Windows installer you can download a Hiren's Boot CD/USB ISO image and burn it to CD/DVD/USB.

I tried booting from the ssd with the hdd unplugged and it didn't boot. So I guess my option now is to instal windows on the ssd with the hdd unplugged Ofc. Then move the files I want from the hdd to the ssd, then format it. Unless there's something else I'm missing , lmk. Thanks for the response!

there are very few stebs all those are just making it so difficult flow these steps:-
1)go to start
2)type"cmd"
3)type"diskpart"
then write all these comands
list disk
select disk 1(replace 1 with your disk,u can check your disk by checking the size of your disk in "list disk")

Quick edit, my ssd wasn't booting, so I was trying to get rid of windows and format my hdd while my hdd was the disc that it was booted on. I'll be doing a clean install of windows on my ssd with the hdd unplugged. Then formatting my hdd afterwards
