Here are my pc specs

Ram: Corsair Dominator platinum 2x4 2400mhz (automatically set to 1333mhz)
CPU: intel core i7 3770k 3,5Ghz
PSY: Fatality 750watt ( 80 gold bronze )
MOBO: MSI Z77 MPOWER
GPU: EVGA GTX 680 Superclocked edition
SSD: OCZ VERTEX 4 254GB
HHD: WESTERN DIGITAL 1TB BLACK EDITION
OS: Windows 10 64-bit home edition ( with no product key )

Why does my pc crash and i get blue screen of death when i get my ram to 2400mhz and my CPU to 4.2ghz i know it has to do with the voltages or something so please help me i want to stabilize it at these speeds

Solution
Zed buddy, I get it I am very obsessive when it comes to my PC. But you are doing too many things at once. I would first get your cpu stable then overclock the ram. First tho download Unigine Valley or Heaven benchmarks and and run some benchmarks. At stock speeds see how many fps you get then set your cpu back to 4.3 and do it again. You will probably not gain hardly anything in gaming from that overclock but you might going from 3.5 to 4.3 but not from 4.3 to 4.5 i promise gaming your frames per second won't increase whatsoever at that point. If you're stable at 4.3 and I repeat If You Actually Are Stable At 4.3 then the only thing you need to do to get it to 4.5 is increase voltage some I had a Sandy Bridge 2600k...

When you access bios there are XMP profles that can optimize your ram.
I suggest resetting bios, and enabling XMP profile 1 or 2. By default after you install RAM it defaults very low settings, that's why you see 1333 mhz.

How do i reset bios i have an MSI Z77 MPOWER mobo

And also i want 2 things

1. 2400mhz ram set it to where it has to be basically
2. my cpu to 4,2ghz

thats it

Will i be able to do it with the XMP profile?

XMP profile if listed should give your RAM optimal settings. As far as overcloking CPU can you set multiplier to x42 which is 4.2ghz and after that you may need to play with voltage if you keep getting blue screen due to low vcore. Keep in mind high voltage = high heat so you better get ready to cool your CPU with right cooler, otherwise you will see blue screen and reboots / lockups.

I suggest checking some overclocking guides, just the get idea of fundamentals behind it.

To reset bios there will be a jumper probably down toward the bottom right of your mobo it'll say clear cmos. It should just be two pins sticking up and you need to either get a jumper pin and short them or use anything really thats metal. First unplug your psu and ground yourself to the chassis of your case pull the coin battery out and short pin for ten seconds

1333 MHz IS XMP enabled. You are using DDR RAM which according to JEDEC standards is effective 2667 MHz. Your overclock is sucessful.
2400= 266.67*9
2667= 266.67*10 (+1 bin)
Dont kill your computer by setting it to 2400 MHz or that is equivalent to running it at 4800 MHz SDR. (Marketing puts it at 2400 MHz for PR)

Oh to get 4.2 GHz on i7 4770K (Assuming you have an aftermarket air tower cooler or a 120mm AIO water cooler), try this
Disable Turbo.
Base Clock: 100.00 MHz
CPU multiplier: 42x
Uncore multiplier: 35x
Voltage: 1.325v

That is a very generous voltage given for 22nm Haswell, and should be stable.

Nice PC build you got there :)

Wait

Now my Ram its set to 2200Mhz and its running really well no crashe's nothing
Why CANT i put it at 2400Mhz if both the Ram AND the MOBO support 2400Mhz ( thats what am asking )?

Also i don't have an i7 4770k i have an i7 3770K with a Thermaltake water 2.0 extreme set to 4,3Ghz and i want to get it to 4,5Ghz and my RAM at 2400Mhz

Also here are my BIOS SETTINGS

PICTURE 1
PICTURE 2
PICTURE 3
PICTURE 4

Can you take a look at my BIOS settings and tell me why my RAM cant get to 2400Mhz AND also how to get my CPU to 4,5 Ghz??
