Does it matter what year a psu came out ?

Hi i just ordered a evga g2 750 watt and im curious if i made a mistake. That psu came out in 2014 and im wondering if it isnt worth getting cause of the release date and how its old. Does it matter what year it came out ? Should i return it and get a more recent psu ? Please help thanks

Hello,

There is no need to return the PSU. As long as it is unused, it doesn't really matter when it came out.
The G2 750 is a fantastic power supply, I actually use the exact one myself and it has been great.

With tier one being the best and tier five being the worse.

The G2 was, and still is a phenomenal set of units. It may be a few years old, but it is still a great unit with a long warranty.
The G3 series just launched, but there is nothing wrong with buying a G2 unit.

Mine came out in 2007 and is still running strong. Running 24/7 since 2009. Has had some fan issues but nothing I couldn't handle myself. Quality power supplies tend to have higher quality capacitors in them that should last ten years. Moving parts such as fans are a different story. An unused, tier-1 supply though, I wouldn't second guess myself if I were you... it will run great for many years.
