Hello everyone,
I already have a sapphire r9 290 vapor-x gpu.
I would like to buy a new cpu, should I go for the i5 4690k or the i7 4790k ?
Would i see a noticeable difference between the two because my gpu isn't that good.
Any help is appreciated !

What is your current CPU that you are using?
The 4790k is a bit better option, but it all depends on what you currently have. The 4690k is really all that you should need for gaming, hell even the i5 4460 should do pretty well for gaming too and cost quite a bit less.

Okay, so an i5 4690k is enough for gaming? I'm planning on playing bf1 ultra settings.
Right now, i have an AMD a-10 6800k and it's bottlenecking my gpu

Yes that is a good CPU. Like I said the i5 4460 is a good option, if you want to use the $40-50 savings on some other upgrade on the system. The 4690k on the socket 1150 system is going to be about as good as your going to get for the $ (the i7 is nice, but not worth the extra $ for the minimal performance gain that you get for gaming). I'm assuming your going to use your existing RAM in the new build, because Intel has the newer socket 1151 that supports the newer DD4 RAM?

Okay, i'm going for the i5 4690k.
But can I go for ddr4 ram?? The cpu only supports 1150 and ddr3? No?
Do i buy the devil's canyon or the haswell refresh?

The 4690k is plenty to get, especially if your going to use existing DDR3 RAM that you have. Personally DDR4 is nice and all, but I don't think it is that much better than a good set of DDR3, so if you have existing DDR3 RAM that your going to use, I would just stick to a Mobo that supports your DDR3 and get the CPU for that Mobo. The 4690k is plenty for any task and will do you extremely well for your needs, so I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I'll stick with my 16gb of ddr3 ram and i'll be buying a gigabyte z97x-gaming 3 motherboard.
+ I'll overclock the cpu to get the most out of it. How many ghz do you recommend? I've got a good cpu cooler but I want an overclock that won't push my cpu to the extreme.
