Look at adding a 2nd gtx 760 on the cheap, but the reason its cheap ($50 ) is its an evga with "artifacts" which seems common with the evga's. But I was thinking of using it for sli'ing and wondered if I maybe it would work for that?
But I love cheap insane builds!! Just bought this nutzo mobo with 4 x16 pcie slots and if I build it I will fill it.. And I just sold an old quadro 4000 for $50 bucks the same $$ as the 760 so how about a 12/24 core/thread dual Xeon X5680's wit 4 gtx 760's for $500ish, are we having fun yet??
The artifacting 760 should work with sli, but you will get artifacts and it will stop working after a while. It is possible to fix a artifacting GPU with a oven, but the artifacts will come back in around 6 months, and there is a chance of destroying the GPU. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xanr4jkmEc&ab_channel=LinusTechTips
Wha.. wha.. wha.. had to shelve the idea, did not account for the extra slots lining up in a standard case, so a SM 747 case at $350 min. used on ebay blows this idea up..
