Can anyone recommend a PC build for Minecraft?

Hi all,

I'm very new to PC building, and I've thought of selecting my own parts, but quickly realised that I don't have the experience. I was wondering if any of you more experienced PC builders had any recommendations?

I'm an avid Minecrafter, so the build would need to be suitable to run the game on max settings at a great frame rate. I also play modded Minecraft, which is slightly more intensive, but I assume it wouldn't need anything special.

I like to watch and edit videos too, so something which can handle 1080p video editing and watching would be awesome (I think this means a decent processor right?).

I'm also wanting to have something which looks pretty decent (so maybe a slightly more expensive case?), and I am hoping to order with a red and black colour scheme (although this isn't essential).

Finally (sorry I'm so picky), it would be great if it could be around the vicinity of $750 USD, as that seems to be my budget.

Thanks for all the help everyone,

The i5 6500 comes with a stock cooler, so no expensive cooler is needed. :)

Minecraft with mods can get a bit cpu heavy, but really an i5 is enough, when you adding shaders to it, the games becomes GPU heavy so then the gtx 1060 power...

Honestly I might recommend the 6600k over the 6500, and the 1050Ti over the 1060. If minecraft is the main game of choice, the 1050Ti will be more than adequate for Shaders, and the game will benefit more from the added clock speed + overclockability of the 6600k, especially when mods are introduced. Even on a 6700k overclocked to 4.5GHz, I typically only pull ~45-50FPS when I'm running modded.

Thanks so much for the effort, I really appreciate it! I think I'll get this rig if that's what you recommend, thanks again!

Also, sorry to bother you again, does this build already have a cooler with it, or will it not need one?

Minecraft with mods can get a bit cpu heavy, but really an i5 is enough, when you adding shaders to it, the games becomes GPU heavy so then the gtx 1060 power will kick in, if you're not playing with shaders though indeed the gtx 1050ti will be enough for high fps. :)

Also see here a benchmark video with a gtx 1060+ i5 6400 for minecraft with and without shaders :)
