Okay so, i got another computer a gateway computer and put my old hdd in that one it starts up gets to loading the windows screen then resets. Is it a power problem? im not sure. The HDD is a WD caviar black. The motherboard of the new computer im trying to use im not sure of. The specs is here: https://www.cnet.com/products/gateway-dx-4831-desktop/specs/ Im not sure what the problem is.

The hdd was in a dell motherboard and is attemped to be put into a gateway.

When i get home, ill factory reset my windows on the hdd, maybe that should work.
Just please help me out in the meantime..

Oh and the hdd isnt corrupted i out it back in my old pc and it works, currently using it right now.

Hi there Guner_Harris,

You are trying to boot from your old drive, when attached to your new system right?
If this is the case, I would say that this wouldn't really work that way. The new computer has completely different hardware, so you can't really expect a proper boot.
You will need to attach the HDD to your new system and perform a clean OS installation. You need to back up all the data stored on the drive first though.
