Hi the last month 2 PSU's i had in my gaming pc have burned down. I have tried different things i have checked if they have enough juice to support my system i have switched the outlet just to make sure it wasen't something there i have even went down to a pc store to get them to look if they could see anything but they said that everything looked fine.

The only change regarding my PC is that i have moved into a new apartment.

The way that it happens is that my PC randomly reboots this usually happens 2 times and then the 3rd it burns down.
The pc store that i went to checked my CPU, GPU and my mobo but it's always just been the PSU that has burned down.
Neither me or the PC store have any idea what can cause this and i really don't want more PSU breaking, so now im here hoping that any of you guys might have an idea what it could be.

The PSU that i have in my PC is a: Energon EPS-550W gaming PSU
My GPU is a GTX 970 MSI 10m edition, my CPU is a Intel i5-4570 3.20GHz and my mobo is a MSI z87-g45

Would really love some help since this is getting really frustrating.

Solution
Well if the other 2 PSUs were the same low quality as the energon you are currently running then it's not that surprising. I'd start by investing in a good quality unit rather than the bargain basement quality unit.

If you're going through PSU's that quickly, it mustn't be the PC, I think you should contact the company that provides electricity to your apartment and see how much power is coming out of the mains outlet, it might be too much or too little, this would be my suggestion anyway, others may think differently to me.

Were your other PSU's similar to the Energon? The only things I found point to it being a bad PSU. And made by Andertek an unknown OEM.

Cheap-O PSU's do things like what you describe. In my early days with computers, I went through about 3-4 cheap ones myself with them going out randomly.

As others have said it is becaue you are going cheap on the power supply.

A quality PSU can sustain outpting its stated wattage, will power your PC for years, and have many safegaurds in place to prevent it from ever damaging your parts.
A cheap-o will have a bogus number priinted on a sticker, and many users have come on the forums with completely fired motherbaords and GPUs due to these ticking time bombs. There are even cases of these types of power supplies starting fires and burning houses down.

So get a good quality PSU.
Pretty much anything by seasonic or xfx is good; EVGA, Rosewill, Corsair, Antec all have some really good units but also some meh to bad units as well.
