Is windows on an SSD?

You can try and follow this http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/computing/how-to-fix-windows-10-problems-with-system-restore-11364008291943

Dont own or played with a computer with windows 10 so its all new to me for windows 10.

Open a command prompt as admin (type cmd in search bar then right click and open as admin)
Type "CHKDSK C: /F" (without quotes) and let it do it's job, report back with any errors.

Okay.. well, have you tried running a system restore to day before the update... or just removing the update entirely... it would help to confirm whether or not it is the update causing the problem.
