Hello!
Got the following rig now.

  • ■ mobo:Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
    ■ http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3449#o...
    ■ cpu:Intel Core i7 950 3.07GHz @ 3,1 GHz, can be boosted to 3.68Ghz
    ■ Ram: 3x2GB PC3-10700(667 MHZ)
    ■ GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6900 series
    ■ PSU: chieftec BPS-650C

I have also just aquired an asus rog swift PG248Q-144Mhz monitor which I would like to make use of as much as possible
https://www.asus.com/se/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG248Q/

I want to play overwatch at 1080P on at least high settings with >60fps with gsync to make use of my new monitor. Would a nvidia 1060 or above card do it or would the rest of the parts be bottlenecking it?

Would the PSU be enough to support a 1060 card?

/Stefan

That card was my first thought and yes that PSU has enough power and the PCIe supplementary power cable it needs. There are plenty of people on Youtube pairing the 950 with a 1070 but the 1060 is think is better suited. On the other end of the spectrum there are those using a 770 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEkDt40Kj4owith the 950.
