Hi I'm currently looking to upgrade my gpu from gtx 560 ti sli to the rog 1080 oc in sli. I'm concerned if my psu will support them in sli as they draw 300 watt max, a total of 600 watts. Between the sli gpu cpu ssd's and lights and fans I'll be around 700-725 wattage draw. Will that be too close for comfort or as Goldie locks would say "just right"? Also going to buy the rog 4K gsync monitor to use these new cards properly.

System specs
Asus sabertooth mk 2
Intel i7 4790k
Samsung Evo 850 500gb ssd x2
Gskill 2333mhz 16gb
Evga 850 g2 psu

Solution

Two ASUS ROG STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-GAMING cards in 2-way SLI mode and manually overclocked beyond its factory clocks will draw around 507 Watts just for the graphics cards only.

Closed loop liquid...

Right on. I figured that as well but better safe then sorry, mainly wait a few days for a new psu if it was an issue.

Now say if I wanted to water cool would I be in a bind as I would need to power a water pump too? I've always been intrigued about water cooling and been dieing to see what my cpu can really do. Just never did that yet cause the old 560 ti would just bottle neck it I allways assumed. I know when I got the g2 lots of people said its a great psu and I believe it's a tier 2 psu with gold rating.

I bought it with lots of overhead with knowing some time soon I'll replace the 560's. I'll wait for a few more answers till I pull the trigger on them. Gotta do that research because them rog strix 1080's are not cheap plus don't wana have sweet hardware and can't use it lol.

I have an evo 212 cooler master. And yes I'll be gaming in 4K, I have the rog swift 4K gsync monitor on the way. Be here sometime next week. I've always been an sli guy but that's good to know one 1080 would be enough. First sli was GeForce 8800 in sli when that was a new set up lol.

Closed loop liquid coolers like the Corsair H115i draw less than 15 Watts.

A Samsung 850 EVO 500GB draws up to 4.4 Watts per drive.

That EVGA 850 G2 PSU is more than sufficient.
