How does an sshd store data?

I hear that an sshd has around 8gb of ssd storage and over time learns when it needs to access fast. But I'm wondering how one would store games or an OS on one as in would it just store specific parts of the game or the whole thing?

Solution

The OS treats it as a single drive. You, the user, just use it as a regular 1TB drive.
The firmware on the drive learns what files (actually blocks) are used the most.
This end up on the 8GB SSD portion.

For an OS drive, most of that will be parts of the OS. Anything else runs at regular HDD speed off the spinning platter(s).
