Its a very serious problem, I bought a Nvidia Geforce GT 710 graphics card yesterday, and I pretty much didnt tested much of the requirements, I just saw its ddr3 and requires a pcie express 16 slot. When I inserted it into the slot and turned my PC on, it wasnt displaying anything, all that came was a "Power Saving Mode" msg on the Monitor and it turned off. I tried removing the new gpu and then turned on and the computer was on. I found that my PC was running an Integrated Intel 82945G graphics card. So I cant run both of them at the same time. I saw an option to disable the Integrated GPU from the Device Manager, but then again if I would disable it then my screen would turn black and then how can I activate my new GPU by installing drivers in it. Please help is there any way to fix this. I cant abandon my new GPU as it is very costly. Or is there any other problem? And one more question should my PC boot up even if there are two GPU's one integrated and one dedicated on it, if yes then is there any problem with the compatibility of my new GPU?

Here's how I do it: download the drivers for your new videocard, the computer should be using integrated graphics at this point. After you have the drivers, uninstall the drivers for your integrated graphics, usually through 'control panel' and 'programs and features' or 'add/remove programs'. Then shut down the computer and install the new card. Then reboot but push the DEL key(usually) to enter the motherboard bios. You need to find the option to disable integrated graphics and make sure the videocard is selected. In older bios this is under 'advanced' and then 'chipset' or similar. After you save the new settings, reboot into Windows and install the drivers you downloaded in step one. Then you are done.

edit: be sure to connect the monitor cable to your new videocard's output, not the same one you've been using, which is the integrated graphics output.

Ok, thanks for reply I'll try that but this is the graphics card I bought (Gigabyte GeForce GV-N710D3-2GL 2GB PCI-Express Graphics Card ) and I have an Intel D945GCNL Motherboard with a pcie 16 slot. I doubt the compatibility of this card with my motherboard as when I removed this card the computer turned on fine. Can you please tell whether this card is compatible with my motherboard?

I tried both plugging into GPU as well as into the motherboard cable, I doubt that the power supply to my GPU is low as I didnt plugged in the external power cable, can you tell how to find the power supply provided by a pcie 16 slot?
