Can I pair different brands of rams?

I currently have a Hyperx blue 8gb 1600 mhz single stick ram. I am planning to buy another 8gb but I only have one choice and it's the Ripjaws 8gb 1600 mhz single stick. Will these two rams work without any issues? Thanks!

i use different brand ram all the time, even my main system has 2 different brands, i keep the mhz the same, but thats it, to me ram is always overestimated as to dual channel, quad channel higher mhz heat spreaders. i have used both and noticed 0 difference!

Could? maybe... but if you ask if it's sure they will work without problems, no.
Mixing two diferent rams with diferent timmings it's like a lotery, could work flawsly or could not work at all.

You will need to use the slower timming of the two and maybe increase slightly the voltage and test there is no guarantee that they will work but it's very probably.
