From what I can see on some sites, you can verify if your page file is not defragmented. It could be the reason for loss of restore points, though very unlikely. Is your OS drive an HDD or an SSD? If it's an SSD, the issue lies elsewhere.

There's a wide array of common services and programs that will completely wipe out your Restore Points. This is just how the service is set up.
Might want to check out a snapshot tool. Common ones are Comodo Time Machine and RollBack Rx; and both offer freeware versions so lots of reasons to check it out, especially if you don't want your points erased
