i currently feel that my computer doesn't run as smooth as i wanted it to be, I know an SSD would be something of major requirement for a computer as powerful as this to which in the near future i will receive, but would there be anything else required to make my computer better as currently, i feel as if it isn't what i expected it to be.

My computer parts are:

GPU: XFX R9 290 4GB DDR5
MOBO: MSI 990 FXA GAMING
PSU: nzxt 850W HALE90 POWER
CPU COOLER: LIQUID COOLED HYDRO SERIES CORSAIR H1OO1
CPU: AMD FX 8 CORE (FX 8350)
CASE: NZXT H440 New Edition Matte Black/Red Case with Side Window
MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance 2X8GB 2400MHZ Pro series
Hard drive: 480 and 250 SATA

Solution
the fx 8350 give overheating and freezing issues ..above all not perform well

go intel and you will see a lot of improvement

all depend if you play high cpu demanding games or high demanding gpu games...

if i was you ..i will try to sell everything and start a new intel build
Ram speed doesnt matter, if they made 3400Mhz ddr3 ram and your board only supported 1600Mhz it would just slow the ram down to 1600Mhz. You would just be paying for faster ram then you could use.

As for his board it runs DDR3 2133(OC)/ 1866/ 1600/ 1333/ 1066, more then likely hes running 1866Mhz or 2133(OC) with his ram.

What do you mean not being smooth? Is it laggy in games, does it stutter when trying to load programs? Yes a SSD would make things quicker and thing to load faster.

that has been playing on my mind and i am most likely going to, but i could just change the motheboard, cpu and memory to which saves money i guess, chances are i will change the GPU as well.
