Should I use an electrical network powerline adapter to lower ping for online pc gaming?

Hello there! I was just wondering if it was a good idea to purchase a powerline adapter that allows me to use ethernet connectivity for online pc gaming. My modem is located on the main floor of my home, and my desktop is located in the basement, on the other end of my home. I get full wifi connection, stream videos, download stuff fast with no problem, but when I hop on an online game like Battlefield 1 or Counter Strike on my desktop through wifi connection, my ping is incredibly inconsistent! It stays at 33 ping for 3 minutes, then 52 for 5 minutes, then goes to 100+ ping, making it hell to enjoy a simple online match! Any advice to fix these issues? Would a powerline adapter help me!? Thanks!

It should but you need to be really sure it is your wireless causing it....it is highly likely it is. Open a cmd window and leave a continuous ping run to your router ip while you play. If you see the number jumping around powerline will likely provide a more consistent latency.

Yes, definitely a good idea. Online gaming on Wifi is a no-go. POwerline adapter will mitigate your issues.
That being said, if you do have the posibility of running a proper ethernet cable, do it.

"Online gaming on Wifi is a no-go" That kind of depends on the environment though, without interference from other sources of RF latency on wireless is as good as ethernet, mine runs at 1ms between host and WAP.

That would only happen if you were so close to the router, that one coudl run a cable without issue.

Well you do well to presume how far I'm away from my router. If you call running cable across two door ways and up a flight of stairs "without issue" you would be correct. (Actually as I said my WAP not router). The WAP is still a floor below me so again I have to disagree with you. I don't have any living next to me and Ruckus are very good access points but either way my ping to my router is still 1ms and running a cable would be a pain in ass.
