how to find the name of my ram

i want to add another stick of ram but i forgot the name of the ram all i can find was this

Hello. That P/N means "part number". But that gives next to nothing. Going by the timings, frequency and size, and if the ram is uncolored, and without a heatsink, I can't really see it being any other than model than KVR16N11S8K2/8.

As Potatoe said though, you are better off finding a complete new kit. Any DDR3 that has the same pin count as yours will work in your computer.

It shows the part number that you can then Google.


If you download, install and open Speccy you will be presented with all the hardware it can see. That's the summary page. YOu can then click on the RAM category. Click on Slot 1(2,3,4...) and you will see each module's specs. Just copy the part number before the /. The 4g after the / is just telling the user the amount of RAM the module has.
