Computer is using 4gb of ram instead of 8gb.

Hi recently i noticed that my computer has been using less ram than usual (Chrome crashes when opening programs) so i checked the task bar about how much it was using and apparently 25% of my ram was being used and in the value it was 1gb. My BIOS and control panel say i have 8gb and nothing seems weird. It also detects the ram sticks.
If any more info is needed dont hesitate to ask.

Is your OS 32 bit or 64 bit? 32 bit windows will not read more than 4gb total memory.

I would run memtest, to make sure one of your sticks isn't going bad.

Ive tried to download and mount the iso file and it wont work. i can open some of the files cuz they are "invalid".
Am i doing something wrong?

Depending on which ISO you downloaded, it needs to be put on a recordable CD, or onto a USB flash drive. You have to unzip the file. You got the download, from here, correct? http://www.memtest86.com/download.htm
