Best CPU for GeForce GTX 1060 FE?

What is the best CPU for an GeForce GTX 1060 founders addition? I'm thinking of getting this card and currently don't know what CPU I should get. Right now the Intel i5-6500 was what I was planning on getting, will this work well with the GeForce GTX 1060 FE?

Yeah, you could get away with using a i3-6100 but it doesn't leave you much room to grow, i think the i5 is the best bet.

If you get a BCLK enabled z170 motherboard you can really squeeze a lot of power out of the 6400 or 6500
  2. And that motherboard will work for both the i5-6500 and the GeForce GTX 1060 FE? I'm new to computer building.
  3. Any motherboard that supports a skylake processor will support any modern GPU released in the last decade or so.
  4. I'm sorry but could I get a link to that motherboard your talking about? I can't seem to find it.

    Yup!

Something like a EVGA z170 or an Asrock z170 would be great! EVGA boards are very attractive in regards to looks and are enthusiast oriented, so they have a lot of options but can be a little confusing. My Wife has a Z170 Stinger which is an EVGA ITX board.

Asrock has just as many options and probably a better set up UEFI, but honestly i can't stand their board looks right now.
  6. Thanks! I think I'll go with the EVGA z170.
