Hi,

I'm experiencing an issue with my network card. My internet speed has been slowed down in the past few months drastically(from 500 gbps to 210gbps max).

My ISP says it's all good from their point of view and that I should set my network card to 1.0gbps full duplex, but the option is not in my Speed&Duplex menu, I can only set it to Auto-Negotiation, and that sets the speed to 1Gbps, but the issues are still there.

Can anyone help me with this?

I have a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller network card

Thank you in advance.

The concept of duplex does not exist at 1g speed. It actually transmits and receives on all 4 pair from both ends at the same time. Although it technically is done with some fancy echo cancelers it seem almost magic they can do it considering all the issue you have running at 100m. If the port is running at 1g it is suppose to be able to send 1g and receive 1g at the same time for a total of 2g of throughput.

If it negotiates to 1g then it should be ok......mostly. There is a chance you are getting data lost due to a defective cable and unfortunately most pc do not display error counts.

It should be fairly cheap to try a different cable.

Your best test is going to be to test between 2 device inside your house. That will...
