Would it be worth upgrading from gtx 660ti 3 gb to the gtx 1050ti? Yes 150 is whole lot newer but spec wise... seems like 660ti still hanging in there

Solution
The 1050 will outperform your card, no doubt about it. Altough I can say that your card can still play most games, even at lower qualities(I have one). A new GPU will give you better performance and better looking games. Is it worth the price? Do you mind playing games at lower res/FPS? It's your call, though.

While the 660ti is still clinging in there an upgrade would be a decent idea. The 1050ti draws a whole 50 watts less power for a start. It also supports DX12 which is very handy for some of the new titles coming out now. The architecture is newer also meaning for a longer life span and theoretically better performance.

Whether these points interest you enough to make you upgrade is for you to decide. After all I'm just a stranger on the internet who doesn't control your wallet.

Don't forget to mark as solved if I helped

I agree with all of your answers. I'm running an old system
Anthon x4 965
8gb ddr2
Gtx 660 ti 3b

Prob won't be able to build new system for another year. Just wondering if a $140 splurge is worth it?

My opinion, as a budget gamer, is don't spend money just for newer tech/lower power usage. Spend money for performance. This means if the 660ti is not providing satisfactory performance in games, look for a new card that will. The 1050ti may or may not be the card, that depends on a lot of factors such as the games and resolution and framerate you want. You say the 660ti is 'hanging in there' so this tells me you don't need to upgrade.
