Ok so i have never replaced my CPU thermal paste but the thing is i don't think it needs it...is that ok?
Also anyone know a way to see CPU temps when gaming i have speccy and when not under load it is 30-38 C it seems but i would like to see what it is when gaming.

Oh, OK. Rest assured your CPU is fine with the thermal paste it has on it now. The i3 dual cores don't get all that hot since they are low wattage processors and can't be OC'ed. The thermal paste usually lasts a whole lot longer on them than on hotter more power hungry CPUs. Especially CPUs that are run at near 100% usage 24/7.

It's a i3 3240 3.40GHz only thing about stress tests that bug me is they don't really show how it's like to have a cpu under load like most games have ups and downs when playing right? So i wish there was a stress test that did not go 100% at all times but acted more like normal gaming loads.

Odd way of looking at it. If the core temp at 100% usage is too high, you are going to want to do something about it. But max core temp for that processor is 65.3°C. If a stress test like Prime 95 or Intel Burn Test (or your gaming scenario) takes it above that for more than occasional spikes, it is time to address the problem.

Ok so i used intel burn test and it never got over 56 C on high so i guess that means i don't need thermal paste :)

Nope. You're good. Why did you have a concern? Just worrisome?

You may thing this is stupid but you see i plan to upgrade my pc in the next few weeks I'm going to get a GPU and a new psu. And i guess i was thinking that it would suck to pay for all that only to have my cpu break do to overheating....i mean truth be told i know 2 years is kind of old for a cpu but so far it seems to be working ok.
