Im currently running 2 750 gb HDD on a raid 1, one of the drives sadly has died, I want to upgrade to SSD but I dont know if the good drive would mirror itself onto the SSD. Its a HDD, not sure if it matters. Thank you for any help.

yes you could use a 750gb ssd in a raid 1 setup with a hdd.

BUT, I strongly don't recommend it. its not worth the cost. most raid setups run in ide command instead of achi command so the ssd will be slower and lack some of the advance hardware commands that help make them better.

also as a question why do you run a raid 1 setup? if your system really is that up time critical it would be better to replace both drives.
