Hello guys,

my PC is:

I5-3570K
HD 8750 2GB
8 GB RAM DD3
MB ASUS P8H77-M PRO
Seasonic SS-500ET F3 500W Bronze 80Plus

So i know that my GPU is quite old, but i can still play a games for 1080p. I was thinking to buy PS4 slim now, price is about 250usd, but i am afraid that PS4 is quite poor machine in 11/2016 and during next 2 years will be unless. So 250 for PS4 and then i guess another 500usd for PS5 and i could be able to play all new games for next 7-8yrs??

Or to upgrade my PC right now but my budget is at the moment only 500usd. So i was thinking to buy GTX 1060 X GAMING 6GB and then upgrade my memory to 16 GB DD3. I have monitor 1080p and i would like to keep him next few years.

And my point is - do you think that in 2018 will be 1060 card still good enough for next console generation games in 1080p? Will be PS5 powerful like GTX 1060 or more like a 1080?

Thank you very much for all the answers

Mika

I personally think that you should upgrade your GPU right now. The ram.. well that depends on you because we don't relaly know which game titles you play, if you don't focus too much on AAA titles then maybe 8gb is enough for now. Possibly the best idea would be to find matching 8gb of the same ram to just have a "cheaper" way to upgrade instead of buying a 16gb kit.

As far as the GPU. again, Depending on your gaming, maybe you dont even need the 6gb version of the gtx 1060. OR you can also take the RX480-4gb it's got a bit more vram and wont be as effected lets say as the 1060 with it's 3gb

dont really see the PS4 as a "good" alternative to upgrading a great system like yours. Unless you like console gaming more

I play AAA titles i will focus on them next years too. I was thinking about PS4 because of games like Bloodborne, Last of us, Days Gone, Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, RDR 2 etc. I am little bit afraid that i miss great games because they are just for PS4... I never own console, i am pc player and i can't not imagine to play FPS game with dualshock.
So on one side is better PC with some games against worst PS4 with better games but with dualshock.
Hard decision for me:-(

Yes, i miss some great PS4 games and i am afraid it will be worst in future - more great games for PS4 and 5, less for PC

well it's honestly pretty difficult to go from PC to console controls unless you're already used to it... or easily adapt. Cheapest choice would be to upgrade GPU on your PC. with your budget you could do both pretty much. Leave the ram for another day on the PC. Get an RX480 GPU and a PS4. Maybe that'd be a solution? (i suggest the rx480 cuz it should be priced better than 1060 depending....) could do both with that budget. Yes 16gb ram would be great, but 8gb for now should allow you to run games of today
