I am a little confused with the term 'isolation' in network virtualization.
I have heard that virtual networks are isolated from each other.
How are they isolated?
If they are isolated from each other, how can they communicate?
Help me my confusion.

They are isolated in sort of the same way that your PC is 'isolated' from the Library at UCLA. Or the server farm at my old job. Or my personal network here.
You can only see what they expose to the outside world, if anything.

Differing from all being on the 'same' network, where they see each system by default.
