I'm not really sure what I did.

This problem kind of makes me sound like a idiot, but rest assure that I do know a decent amount about computer science and pc building. So while messing with my heat sink fan the screwdriver I was using slipped and hit my gpu (I have a mitx build so the gpu is very close to the cpu). I noticed that I hit one of those small brown rectangles (I forgot what they are called) and basically turned it into dust. I proceeded to power my pc on and a small puff of smoke came out of the area I hit. The pc turned on and gave me a bsod, but after rebooting the pc is working perfectly fine. I have a lifetime warranty on the card so i'm not too worried if I destroyed it, but it would be nice to know if I did mess something up. The card is a EVGA GTX 1060 3GB FTW+ ACX 3.0. Thanks.

Solution

Oh... It looks like the chip is still intact, although its casing appears to have broken away from it.
It's an ACX 3.0 card? Replace it. Not only did you damage what sounds like a MOSFET, but you also have a model that's been experiencing issues with those chips anyways. Get a replacement and be sure to check out http://www.evga.com/thermalmod/ and hit the button at the bottom to request your free thermal pads in order to fix the issue on the ACX 3.0 cooler.

Only the 1070/1080 have issues with overheating as far as im aware, and I didnt hid a mosfet but one of those little brown ones that I cant remember the name of. Ill look for issues with screen tearing or bsod's but for now I think ill let it be.
