Can I upgrade to more than the 8GB(2x4) maximum? I want 2x8. This laptop is slow. I have 2X2G now. I want it to be blazing hot fast. Do you have any recommendations. I am taking an online A+ class and,with this laptop, the interface is kind of sluggish. Will the 2x4 be a big difference?

I suggest you ask that on the gateway forums, as I cannot suggest to put 2x8 memory into a laptop that doesn't have that functionality in it.
you could try I guess, but don't be surprised if you cannot boot the laptop, and the store will refuse to refund your money.
