I7 4770k or i5 4690k

Hi everyone,
I'm planning on buying a new cpu for my build.
I have the opportunity to have an i7 4770k at the same price as the i5 4690k. (from a friend)
So what do you recommend (for gaming) should i go for the i7 or the i5? (i plan on overclocking)
I've heard that the i5 overclocks better than the i7 but the i7 is slightly better in benchmarks.
Any help is appreciated

You should help your friend if he needs the money.
i7 4770K is 8 threaded i5 4690K is pure quad core. For gaming, usually 4690K is good pair even for flagship GPUs.
At stock speed both of 'em already meets modern PC game recommended hardware requirements.
You will benefit extra four thread 4770K in specific apps such as ray tracing, encoding decoding, and CPU rendering.
Googling as much as possible about the rest of your hardware (MB, RAM, PSU and CPU cooler) compatibility

Hi sir I think u got ur answer .. hahaha
U know that the i7 is extremelly.better in gaming and can process more frames and with more speed. Becuase it gots more l3 cache and higher clock speed. U must choose the i7
I7 is still better without overcloking than an i5 cpu which is overclocked... so what now? U also can overclock that i7. So this.give u no.more choose.
Choose the i7 and enjoy ur gaming xp . Best regards. Khd
