Hello, I am ready to go ahead and purchase this build. It's mostly for gaming, school work and web browsing. I can't really increase the cost much further because with taxes this is already going to put it above budget. So how does this look? I want to go ahead and buy this today.

Also, how would I go about installing Windows 10 without an optical drive? Do all copies of windows come with a USB as well? Do I need to buy an external drive? I'm kind of lost on this so any advice would be appreciated as well. Thanks.

I've made some changes to your build to include higher quality components. Unfortunately, this drove the total price up so I switched you from the GTX 1060 to the 1050 ti to save on the budget.

As far as the installation issue, you have a few options.

1. You can get an external DVD drive.

2. You can get an internal drive and connect it via SATA and simply remove it when you're done. It's okay to set these on wooden and tile floors, but you'll want to lay down a piece of paper if you're working on carpet.

3. You can buy the DVD and key from the source in PCPartPicker but simply not use the disk. Just download the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool onto a computer that's already running with Windows on it and create a bootable USB flash drive to install Windows 10 onto your new system. You will need to install the Home version since the key you plan to buy is for Windows 10 Home.

for $1300, we cam probably do better than a 1060

this doubles your memory. gives you a 1070 and a 1440p screen, doubles your hdd space and a slightly larger ssd in a smaller itx build with built in wi-fi

For option 3, can it be any flashdrive?

And is the 1050ti a decent card? How much of a downgrade is it from the 1060?

Thanks!

Holy crap that is awesome! I am able to get it for free! Thanks for the link :D I'm guessing Windows 10 Education is just about the same as Home, just with some extra features?

That's alright, although the stock heatsink that comes with the CPU will be significantly louder than the Hyper 212X.

The power supply you chose is great.

That's ok, if it gets too annoying I'll deal with it then. So this is good to buy? I won't need anything else will I?

Assuming you have an outlet to plug it into and some way of getting online, you're good to go. I'm just messing with you because your question wasn't very specific at all. This build includes all the components necessary to a build that doesn't include premium lighting or liquid cooling.

Hahaha ok. Thanks so much for your help! Last question, do you think this is a nice computer?

In terms of performance per dollar and component quality vs budget, it's rock solid. It doesn't necessarily appeal to my aesthetic but I have my tastes in high end stuff like $3K+, so I guess it's just me being used to super expensive hardware that makes me say yuck to budget oriented builds.

For the price, you're getting about as much as you can.

Lol I'm hoping someday I'll be able to build with that kind of budget. But this will have to do for now. Thanks again for your help!

you could go 6600k+1070 now for more power, but i think the 6700k+1060 is a decent sacrifice now since in 1-2 years from now you will upgrade the gpu anyways and will have a stout system to accept gtx1080ti tier or above performance.
